The most rewarding part of my role is knowing that we created something that gainfully employs approximately 25 people (at one time when we owned the stores in the western provinces, it was close to 100) and most have families in this community and this is how they are supported.
Teleco™ also supports many great causes here in Thunder Bay and this, too, is very rewarding to give back to the community we were raised and love.
I enjoy, first and foremost, the people I work with and second, the business is in a continuous state of change, so there is something new every day.
In my spare time, I enjoy camp, golf, Arizona, and spending time with my family.

It’s these things that makes me proud to be part of an organization where everyone works together to provide the best customer experience and recognizes that it’s the small things that make a difference. Each of us regardless of position depends on each other for our success and ultimately separates us from our competition.
The best thing about working at Teleco™ is the ability to react quickly and implement change if it benefits our clients. We don’t have a lot of red tape and if it’s great that we can organically alter or modify our processes if it’s for the best interest of our customers.
We are in the communication industry which is constantly changing and improving and we need to adapt with it to also improve and be efficient, effective and transparent with the services we provide our customers. I also like the fact that every member of our team is a valued member and not just an employee with an employee number. I know their families and what they like to do in their spare time and at Teleco™ we try to empower a work-life balance approach. Work is important but so is family!
My favourite thing to do in my spare time is spend time with my husband and my two sons at our camp. There’s nothing better than being out there with them fishing, spending quality time with other family members and friends and a nice glass of wine.

Most rewarding part of my job would be applying the knowledge I have learned in this new industry to be able to offer a customer the exact solution they need for their needs. Not only meeting but exceeding their expectations in the process.
I love the family/team atmosphere that comes along with working for Teleco™. It is also great working for a locally owned company that has a positive and recognized track record within our community.
I am an active member in the Hillcity Kinsman men’s service group. We spend time organizing/running fundraisers to contribute the proceeds to our local charities.
I also have a 7 year old son who is the biggest part of my life. Being a father and sharing all the moments that come along with that is something that is extremely valuable to me.
Spending time outdoors (winter or summer) is something I take advantage of whenever possible. One last thing would be that I have a passion for building things. Whenever the opportunity comes about to be involved in a building/construction project I am immediately interested…. And when those projects aren’t there waiting to be done I will normally create a new one 🙂

I am a senior Landline technician and specialize in phone system installs, moves, adds and changes as well as data cabling. The most rewarding part of my job is to see a happy customer after a service has been completed for them. What I like the best about working at Teleco™ is the small company feel. If there is a problem or issue to be dealt with, you can just walk across the office and speak face-to-face with the person involved.
In my off time I like to spend time with my family at our cottage in the Ignace area. We love to fish and bird hunt there.

I am a Technician in the Service Department. Service guy so he would not be running cable but would be the guy to fix whatever the customer doesn’t have working at the time – no voicemail, phone that’s dead, no dial tone etc.
The most rewarding part of my job is being able to help people solve their problems.
I love the people I work with. They are what I would call my work family. I also love problem solving. A large part of my day, is finding solutions for different technical issues. It is gratifying to be able to do this on a daily basis.
My interests are spending time at the lake & fishing. I am a big Chicago Bears fan. I also enjoy watching hockey. Go Blackhawks! Each Spring, I coach my kids’ soccer teams. We are always keeping busy with our children’s extracurricular activities. The biggest and best thing for me is spending time with my wife Sue and our three children.

I am an IT Consultant here at Teleco. I’ve carried a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certificate since 2001. Working primarily with our clients there is incredible job satisfaction knowing you made a difference in life as well as their business. In the ever changing world of IT technology I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and empowering clients to improve their productivity. Keeping up with the changes requires constant upgrading and learning. Teleco realizes this and encourages us to stay on top by giving us the time and resources we need to stay current. Having worked in IT for over 20 years I’ve seen a lot. There’s nothing better than going to a work environment that fosters growth, has staff you consider friends, and has a few laughs along the way. An old friend once told me “If you love what you do it won’t feel like work“. I’ve been here almost a year and the days are flying by.
While not at Teleco I enjoy shooting breath taking images with my drone, playing my left handed guitar and spending time with my wife and daughter….hmm, maybe I should change the order. The thing I enjoy the most about my position is the feeling of pride in a job well done . I like being able to go into a job, plan it out, execute that plan to completion and then leave the job having pleased the customer.
TELECO is a forward thinking company and I like that the best about the company. There is always something new to offer the customer and install or learn about and so many knowledgeable co-workers willing to help without question.

I’ve been with Teleco for a while now and I enjoy seeing the difference we put on clients faces each and everyday when we are able to help them get the best phone and plan for their needs.
I’ve been fortunate enough to take several training classes with Apple Canada and have earned the designations of Apple Master and Apple Product Professional. These training sessions have
given me extensive knowledge surrounding the entire Apple Ecosystem, meaning that I am able to figure out and solve most issues that arise within the Apple Ecosystem.
Having different clients from all walks of life come into the store everyday and hearing their stories; and knowing that I have done everything I can to make their experience the best it can be, is
probably the best part of my job.
I do a lot of traveling each year, mostly within Canada but occasionally overseas; the best spot I’ve visited so far is Lucern, Switzerland. The crisp mountain air, the beautiful landscapes and
the friendly people made this my favourite place to visit so far. The next big trip I am saving up for is to visit Phuket and Chiang Mai, Thailand.

I’ve only recently starting working at Teleco™, and I can already see the numerous reasons why we are the preferred service provider of so many customers. I take pride in knowing that I, as well as the rest of our team, are able to make the process of buying phones and choosing plans so much easier for the public. One of the many rewarding aspects of the job is seeing how happy we make customers by relating to their individual lives and offering our full assistance. It gives me a sense of accomplishment when the customer tells me that they will return whenever they need assistance because they trust our staff over other providers.
When I’m not working at Teleco™, you might find me hiking around the various conservation areas and forests that surround Thunder Bay. On top of hiking, I love photography and music. I generally spend my time taking pictures in nature during the summer, while in the winter I like to stay in and play guitar with my family and friends.
I look forward to expanding my knowledge of the technology that we deal with to the point that I can be a considerable factor in the already stellar reputation that Teleco™ has. I started working at TELECO in February, 2018. I had a great feeling about working here even from the start of my first shift. It’s a great feeling knowing that we at TELECO provide much more than linking communication with everyone. We take the process of purchasing a landline service or wireless service and make it personal to our customers. I get the feeling that every one of us at TELECO take great pride in helping a customer make the best decision going forward. It’s a great feeling knowing that we treat our customers with the standard that leaves them happy to return and anxious for their next visit. I appreciate the standard that stays constant across TELECO and look forward to working here for a long time.
My life outside of TELECO is simple and simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication. I’m relatively new to Thunder Bay, I moved from Brampton, Ontario. I came to Lakehead University to pursue Kinesiology. I’m all about sports, this also goes hand in hand with my competitive attitude around sports. So if you ever want to catch a Saturday night hockey game just let me know!
Technology is forever changing and at times it may be confusing to adapt to those changes. Working at TELECO I can see that as a team we will support each other as well as other customers to make that transition that much easier.
Working at TELECO over the last several years has been a satisfying and engaging experience. The staff at TELECO are all extremely friendly and have made the day-to-day operations thoroughly enjoyable. Outside of work I can be found at my camp or at Lakehead University, where I am currently earning my Bachelors of Education.
